Omniscient God

Isaiah 43:1- But now, this is what the Lord says- he who created you, O Jacob,

He who formed you, O Israel:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

When was the last time you were called by your full name? It must have been a while ago, but doesn’t it feel good to be called by name? At times, you might feel your existence is not known by many when you are among a lot of people at work or in a class of say fifty or hundred students. It is humanly impossible for the office CEO or the professor at college to remember all the names.

But the psalmist wrote of God’s infinite knowledge:

Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; his understanding is infinite (Psalm 147:5).

And His knowledge is limitless.

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out (Romans 11:33).

The knowledge that God has is not like the limited knowledge of human beings as God says in the book of Isaiah:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9).

Coming back to our verse for today, God says in Isaiah 43 to fear not, because he knows us by name and would call us by name. He knows the number of hairs on our head and every single thing about us. How beautiful is that feeling?

There is an omnipotent God who knows our thoughts and even the slightest of our desires. He knows the desires of our heart and the perfect timing for everything.

Lord, thank you for being there for me and taking care of me like the apple of Your eye. Thank you for filling me with Your grace and love. Amen
