John 14:1- “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God;trust also in me.”
Ever wondered what gives you an adrenaline rush or the excitement? For some it’s extreme sports and for some it’s a trip to the store. We are all created in a special way, in that we have our own likes and dislikes and things that excite us or scare us.
Some of us may have the fear of darkness whereas some others may be intimidated by bright lights. At times the fear of certain things tend to overpower us and our hearts get troubled.
What do we do then?
As adults, we tend to hide our fears and go before the world and God as brave people. At these times, God asks us to go to Him when we are weary and sorrow-laden and TRUST in him. Just as my niece trusts her parents to catch her when she jumps to them, just as we expect the parachute to hold us when we jump off a plane and just as we expect a life jacket to keep us afloat in water, we must trust fall onto God.
Psalm 145:3 that says “Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men who cannot save.”
Don’t we do that sometimes? Don’t we tend to trust our life jacket more or the insurance we have taken to help us through the fall?
Are we looking for a parachute or a life jacket?
Let’s take one step at a time and take a leap of faith and trust in Him who created everything that we see before us and has the best for us.
Lord, Thank you for being my lifeguard when I am drowning. I come to you today, trusting in your righteousness and mercies to guide me, guard me and take control of my life. Amen.
