Through it All!

1 Corinthians 1:25- For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

There is a song by the Andraé Crouch that goes like this :

I’ve had so many tears and sorrows
I’ve had questions for tomorrow
There have been times I didn’t know right from wrong
But in every situation God gave me blessed consolation that he only gave me trials to make me strong.

Through it all
I’ve learned to trust is Jesus
I’ve learned to trust in God
Through it all
I’ve learned to depend upon His word

So I thank God for the mountains
And I thank Him for the valleys
And I thank Him for the storms He bought me through
For if I’d never had a problem how would I know my God could solve them
How would I know what faith in my God could do.

Doesn’t this make so much sense in our lives? When we don’t get answers to our prayers, do we wonder if they are actually reaching God? Oh, how we wish we had a message delivery report for prayer!

It is very hard to experience the unknown. Imagine driving up a mountain on a curvy road in pitch darkness and helplessly putting all your trust in your driver and your headlights until you reach the top.

The path we tread in our lives is sometimes very foggy that we barely know where to lay the next step.Is it a step upwards or it’s a step downwards? Is it to the left or to the right? Situations like these are the unknowns, they seem to have no end. Situations when our gut feel and prayer-backed, calculated decisions fail us. We might not really have anything to look forward to.

This is when you should sit down and think of the last time you smiled or laughed followed by the last time you cried. We can’t measure happiness unless we’ve been sad a couple of times. Only when we get injured do we yearn to be normal again. It is because we had exams in schools that we now know the meaning of poor performance. God has a perfect reason behind every turn and twist in your life.

We may find no good in our mornings, afternoons or nights, but we have a God who holds our hand through it all. He is always there waiting for us to look up to Him in faith, hope and love.

Lord, I may not have come to you before for comfort and solace from my sorrows, but now, here I am.I lay them down before you. Grant me comfort, peace and a confirmation that you are by my side. Amen.

(P.S: The above passage was inspired by a rendition of the song “Through It All” by The Livingstone Quartet)
